UNICEF USA National Youth Council Volunteer Position 2024-2025
The UNICEF USA National Youth Council comprises young leaders aged 14-24 who collaborate with UNICEF staff to amplify youth voices and advocate for child rights nationally. The Council members provide support to youth and volunteer programs, as well as advocate for policy change, and foster community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elevate Youth Voice: Represent UNICEF USA at events and meetings, and create social media content.
- Support Youth & Volunteer Programs: Provide feedback on engaging young people in social justice work, and inform strategic initiatives.
- Educate and Motivate: Lead projects to educate youth, volunteers, and staff, and amplify youth voices through media and thought pieces.
- Build Community: Foster relationships with fellow members, Youth Representatives, and UNICEF Clubs, manage Slack community and host digital conversations.
Commitment:
- Selected individuals are expected to serve a one-year term, with the option to re-apply.
- Dedicate up to 3 to 5 hours per week to Council-related projects, meetings, and activities.
- Attend weekly meetings on Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30 PM EST.
- Participate in in-person and virtual gatherings/trainings, with travel and lodging expenses covered by UNICEF USA.
- Available for onboarding virtual training in August and in-person training in October.

- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Have reliable internet access and devices for virtual participation.
