This unique initiative aims to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of refugee women in Europe who are entrepreneurs, leading small or micro businesses, and social enterprises. It provides them with an opportunity to share their stories and showcase their businesses.

In today’s challenging world, it is crucial to highlight the resilience, strength, and determination that refugee women bring to their communities and local economies. The Visa Everywhere Pioneer 20 program aims to shine a spotlight on entrepreneurs who not only overcome personal hardships but also reshape narratives, empower women and girls, and create a positive impact on society.
The program seeks to honor women from diverse backgrounds, industries, and experiences. These exceptional individuals, whether leading small community enterprises, cutting-edge startups, or major corporations, are sources of inspiration as they push boundaries and promote positive transformation. They are especially keen on hearing from entrepreneurs who defy stereotypes, advocate for social change, and have a meaningful impact on both individuals and the business world.

- Selected pioneers will receive valuable support for their growth. They will have access to business coaching and mentors who will help guide them on their entrepreneurial journey. Furthermore, Visa is demonstrating its commitment to this initiative by donating £50,000 to refugee support organizations, thus contributing to the broader cause of empowering refugee women in their pursuit of success.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Visa Everywhere Pioneer 20 program are as follows:
- The program is open to women who are 18 years old and above.
- The applicant should currently identify as a refugee or have done so at some point in the past.
- Any charity, NGO, or foundation working in Europe can nominate an individual.
- Individuals can also be nominated by public sector or private sector entities that have a program supporting refugees.
- The applicant must reside in Europe.
- The applicant must be an entrepreneur, business owner, or social enterprise owner.
How To Nominate
The nominations and self-nominations for the Visa Everywhere Pioneer 20 will start on March 5th, 2024, and will continue until April 30th, 2024. This opportunity is open to organizations, charities, businesses, and non-profit entities to nominate refugee women entrepreneurs who have shown remarkable bravery, resilience, and a strong dedication to creating a positive influence in their fields.
