The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Ghana’s mission lies a commitment to empower young people to fulfill their potential and drive positive change in society. The YoLe Fellowship Programme is a testament to this vision, providing a platform for young leaders to thrive and lead innovations in critical areas such as leadership, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), social entrepreneurship, and more.

About the Programme

The YoLe Fellowship Programme is a prestigious one-year initiative designed to equip young leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to become transformative agents of change.

Through a combination of hands-on learning, mentorship, and networking opportunities, Fellows will develop a deep understanding of leadership principles and gain practical experience in addressing key challenges facing their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the YoLe Fellowship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Applicants must be aged between 18 and 30 years old, demonstrating a youthful passion and energy for driving change.
  • Education: Candidates should be graduates of tertiary institutions in Ghana, equipped with the academic foundation to succeed in the programme.
  • Commitment: Successful applicants must be able to commit to the one-year duration of the Fellowship, based at the UNFPA Ghana Country Office in Accra.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proactivity and strong interpersonal skills are essential qualities for prospective Fellows, enabling effective collaboration and communication.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is a requirement for participation in the programme, ensuring clear communication and understanding among participants.
  • Passion for Change: Candidates should demonstrate a genuine passion for leadership, SRHR, and social entrepreneurship, with a desire to make a positive difference in their communities.
  • The YoLe Fellowship program welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. Persons living with physical disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply, as are young people currently working in youth-led organizations seeking to enhance their leadership skills.

Application Process

Interested individuals are invited to submit the following documents as part of the application process:

  • Application Letter: A concise letter outlining the applicant’s professional goals and motivations for applying to the Fellowship programme.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Resume: A comprehensive overview of the candidate’s educational background, work experience, and relevant skills.
  • Legal Evidence of Age: Valid identification documents such as a national ID, passport, or birth certificate.
  • All applications should be submitted through the online portal on https://forms.gle/vhd1uMvg28G25BAk9 no later than 11:59 p.m. on 21st April, 2024. Additionally, an open day (information session) will be held on Friday, 5th April, 2024, providing prospective applicants with an opportunity to learn more about the programme and ask any questions they may have.
