V&A Parasol Foundation Prize 2024 application is now avaibale. Submissions that demonstrate the connection between history and photography are welcome under this theme, ranging from the usage of historical techniques and their place in modern photography to the chronicling of historical events or trips down memory lane.
It makes room for artists who are intrigued by the idea of an archive. Such as photographers who deal with family albums, candid shots, and historical or institutional collections. “Histories” requires artists to think about how photography can be used to question and reinterpret history. Reality, and situations, open up possibilities for imagined or speculative futures.
V&A Parasol Foundation Prize 2024 for Women in Photography (Up to £2,000 bursaries for each exhibition)
The 2024 edition of the V&A Parasol Foundation Prize for Women in Photography, is currently accepting applications from eligible Candidates. It is an annual program aimed at finding, assisting, and promoting creative female photographers working in the field of modern photography. The V&A Parasol Foundation Prize is available to all women worldwide, regardless of experience level, and is free to enter.
The Prize is organized in collaboration with the avant-garde three-day photography festival, Peckham 24, in south London. The Parasol Foundation Trust and Ms. Ruth Monicka Parasol’s support have made the prize possible.
The 2024 Theme
The V&A Parasol Foundation Prize for Women in Photography has a theme, and applicants must submit work that addresses the given subject. Every year, a new theme is established for the Prize. The topic for 2024 is “Histories.”
