The Canadian Embassy in Argentina is excited to announce the opening of its yearly request for submissions for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Argentina

The CFLI is a program intended to aid small, impactful projects in developing nations that correspond with Global Affairs Canada’s focal areas for involvement.

The program focuses on projects primarily developed by local partners, and these projects are chosen and endorsed by the respective Canadian embassy or high commission. Additionally, the CFLI aims to bolster favorable bilateral relationships between Canada and recipient countries, as well as their community organizations, by fostering connections and endorsing local initiatives.

Thematic priorities

All projects must correspond with a minimum of one of the CFLI thematic priorities, which include:

  • Promoting gender equality and also empowering women and girls.
  • Fostering inclusive economic growth that benefits everyone, encompassing women’s economic rights, decent employment and entrepreneurship, investment in the most disadvantaged and vulnerable, and preserving economic progress.
  • Advancing inclusive governance, encompassing diversity and 2SLGBTQI+ issues, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
  • Addressing environmental and climate concerns through adaptation and mitigation efforts.

Benefit

  • The average CFLI funding ranges from $25,000 to $35,000 in Canadian Dollars (CAD), and the maximum amount allocated for a project eligible under CFLI is CAD 100,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants consist of:

  • Community and not-for-profit organizations on a local level.
  • Local educational institutions engaged in local projects.
  • International non-governmental organizations focused on local development initiatives.
  • Canadian non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations involved in local development efforts.

How To Apply For Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Argentina 2024

  • All projects need to be finished between the date when the Contribution Agreement is signed and March 31, 2025, for one-year projects, and March 31, 2026, for two-year projects.
  • Applications received after the specified deadline will not be reviewed. Please send proposals electronically to the provided email address on the official website.
  • Organizations should have all legal documentation (such as bylaws, balance sheets, bank account information, and other relevant legal documents) readily accessible to verify their official status.
  • Proposals must be submitted in English, French, or Spanish.
  • Project proposals must thoroughly address all questions in the CFLI project application form, including the necessary gender-based analysis. The project budget should provide a comprehensive overview of the proposed activities and their respective costs.
  • Only proposals that utilize the specified application form and include the necessary budget document will be taken into consideration.
