Roguelike dungeon crawler Hades from Supergiant Games will very soon be available on even more platforms, as it has now been confirmed that it is set to release on iOS via Netflix Games at some point in the coming year, 2024.

Hades reportedly released on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch back in the year 2020, and has gamers and players alike step into the shoes of Zagreus, who is the son of Hades, who is also attempting to escape from the domain of his father, the Underworld. And to do so, he must take on hordes of enemies as well as dangerous bosses, but each time he gets to lose, he is sent back to where he began. It was a huge hit at the time and also picked up several awards, such as Best Indie and Best Action at The Game Awards back in 2020.

What the Developers of the Game Has To Say about the New Development

The developers in a blog post published on the Supergiant Games website, stated that the game “should run great on an iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or later,” but the full technical requirements however will be revealed closer to its launch time. Supergiant has reportedly been collaborating with Secret 6 for the port.

“Fully customizable touch controls” have reportedly been developed specifically for the game, but players will however be able to connect a Bluetooth controller if they like, too. The iOS version additionally, will support both achievements as well as cloud saves, but cross-saves with existing versions of Hades on the other hand will not be available.

Hades Will Only Be Available Through Netflix Games

Furthermore, the post that was made reveals that – at least for the nearest and foreseeable future Hades will only be available through Netflix Games. And for those that are unfamiliar with the situation, Netflix subscribers (of any subscription tier) have direct access to the service of the game as long as they have a compatible device, they are able to play games that are available for as long as they remain subscribed. This is bad news for Android users, though, as there are “no plans for additional versions of Hades at this time.”

Hades Highly Anticipated Sequel Early Access Launch

The coming year is set to be a big year for Hades, as beyond the release of the original game on Netflix Games, the highly anticipated sequel, Hades 2 – is reportedly set to launch in early access on PC in the Q2 of the year (which is presumably between April and the end of June).

And just before that early access release, however, there will be a technical test with “much less content than what’s in store for the early access launch, and likely be limited only to a relatively small subset of players who express interest in participating.”
