Hades II is set to launch in early access in the coming year. This news is coming as players continue to wait for a sequel to Hades. And finally, we now have a timeframe for the popular and very much loved game.
Hades II Early Access
We are going to have to wait quite a little bit longer in order to play Hades II. The proposed sequel to one of the best roguelikes out there will reportedly be launching in early access in the second quarter of 2024, developer Supergiant Games made the announcement on Thursday. You will now be able to get the early access version via Steam or the Epic Games Store.
Hades II Developers Remark About the Game
“You may be wondering, why can’t we launch in Early Access, like, right now?!” the developers in a blog post wrote. “The game looked pretty far along in the first trailer! The reason is, that Hades II will have at least as much content from day one in Early Access as the original game did back when it launched in Early Access on Steam. And, even though Early Access inherently means a game is not yet complete, we still want to do everything we can to make sure Hades II is worth your while as soon as you can play it in any capacity.”
There will, however, be a “technical test” that takes place “shortly before” the game gets to launch in early access, Supergiant stated. And not too many people will be able to try it, though as it will “likely be limited only to a relatively small subset of players who express interest in participating.” More details will however be announced “closer to when it’s ready.”
The Plan of Supergiant After Hades II Releases In Early Access
After Hades II finally hits early access, the plan of Supergiant is to release “several Major Updates” that will get to add more content and then refine the game in the process. “The story will expand with each update, as we introduce more characters, and deepen relationships with existing ones,” Supergiant stated. “This process will culminate in our v1.0 launch, which will feature the conclusion to the story and any other finishing touches.”
