One Million Leaders Asia (OMLAS) selects and awards an OMLAS Fellowship Every year, to promising young talents from Asia.
One Million Leaders Asia Fellowship Program 2024
During the fellowship, participants undergo a two-month training program covering topics such as Transformative Leadership, Sustainability, Social Innovation, and Social Entrepreneurship. They also receive assistance in executing Community Projects.
After finishing the Fellowship Program, fellows have the chance to join the OMLAS Alumni network. This provides them with the opportunity to work together with other emerging leaders from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Program Phases
Phase 1: Fellows Intensive Trainings: The first phase involves intensive training for the selected young leaders, focusing on the five pillars of the OML Fellowship Curriculum. These chosen individuals are referred to as Fellows.
Phase 2: Leadership Challenge: Fellows are tasked with a leadership challenge to connect, inspire, and empower young leaders in their communities as they share their knowledge and build a team. This second tier of young leaders is referred to as Champions, and each Fellow is expected to build a team of at least 20 Champions (50 in OMLA). In this phase, Fellows will also be provided with a series of masterclasses on key sustainability topics as they lead the training with their Champions.
Phase 3: Act For Change: Fellows will move into a project implementation phase in collaboration with the team they built in Phase 2. Following a rigorous screening process, selected fellows will have the opportunity to develop their projects to innovate around key sustainability challenges in their communities, with a micro-grant from NELS. Fellows may propose themes based on the social and environmental challenges they perceive in their community or country.
Phase 4: Graduation and OML Alumni Community: Fellows and Champions who successfully finish the Fellowship will graduate as OML leaders and can join the worldwide OML Alumni Community. They will play a role in connecting, inspiring, and empowering the next generation of leaders worldwide and will have access to the networking and empowerment opportunities offered within the Alumni Community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be aged between 18 and 40 at the time of applying.
- Proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
- Must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated passion for sustainable and ethical initiatives and community development.
- Dedicated to guiding and mentoring other young people in the areas of positive social/environmental/sustainability impact.
- Willingness to fully participate in the training program and have internet access.
