The Commission notified the public yesterday that it would be looking into the claimed violation in detail to determine if any of its “tokenization verification agents had breached the licensing arrangement either directly or through their sub-licensees.”

The investigation was requested by Abisoye Coker Odusote, the CEO and director general of NIMC.

Underscoring the NIMC’s dedication to privacy and data protection, Coker Adusote declared that “no stone will be left unturned” in guaranteeing the security and safety of all Nigerians’ data.

‘High-Security Procedures’

Coker Adusote stated that “the commission understands the critical importance of maintaining public trust and confidence in our operations and we will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability.”

However, high-security procedures are in place to safeguard the NIN database and the private information of every citizen, she added.
