Instagram is now working after being down. The social media platforms app on Sunday took a break for more than an hour, but it is however now back online.

For a host of hours on Sunday evening, Instagram was down. The feed of the app was frozen, and in the process tossing users errors saying that it couldn’t refresh, while the website on the other hand only gave a blank page.
And according to the outage tracker DownDetector, the first reports of trouble kicked off a couple of minutes after 6 PM ET just before spiking to more than 175,000 reports at its peak, but by 7:30 PM ET, the problem had been resolved, and it is working again.
What Meta Has To Say about the Incident
Meta spokesperson, Dave Arnold in an email to The Verge stated, “Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Instagram. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we’re sorry for any disruption this has caused.”
And given to the timing of the incident, the outage in question quickly surfaced as a part of Monday morning news reports in Australia.
Other Meta Products and Services Were Not Affected By the Incident
Other services that are belonging to Instagram’s parent company, Meta, such as Facebook, WhatsApp, or Horizon Worlds, appear to be unaffected by the incident. There is however no sign of issues just like the massive data center backbone problem that took down the services of the company for hours back in 2021.
The help page and accounts of Instagram on other platforms such as Facebook and Twitter had not posted any updates in regards to the outage. An Instagram-owned service such as Twitter would be a perfect place to check, but despite all the rumors and leaks in that regard, it does not exist yet.

On May 21, 2023, Instagram was down for some time and it was reported by many news outlets all over the world. And many users on the other hand also experienced it first hand with their Instagram accounts both on the mobile as well as on the web. But the company has however resolved the issue on Sunday after a technical problem that disrupted the services of the platform. But just as stated already, the said issue has now been resolved and users can now go back to enjoying the services of the platform.
