The HudsonAlpha Ag Tech Accelerator, in conjunction with gener8tor, gives ten promising startups each year up to $100,000 in funding. These startups, organized into cohorts of five, are focused on advancing agricultural innovation.
HudsonAlpha AgTech Accelerator
The program combines the expertise of HudsonAlpha in agriscience, including areas such as agriculture genomics, plant breeding, and crop diversity, with the gener8tor’s extensive network of mentors and investors. Located in Huntsville, a thriving technology hub, the program supports startups that aim to address the pressing issues of sustainable food production and energy generation for a growing global population.
Benefits
- Funding: Selected teams will receive a $100,000 investment in their company, in return for a 7.5% ownership stake, utilizing a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE).
- Group Activities: Weekly activities will be offered to the cohort covering subjects such as market size analysis, revenue model selection, and investor pitching techniques.
- Valuable Deals & Benefits: Access to incredible offers and perks from vendors like IBM Cloud, Rackspace, Amazon, PayPal, Zendesk, Hubspot, and Microsoft.
- Guidance, Support & Personal Meetings: Over twelve weeks, individualized guidance and mentorship will be provided by the gener8tor team through bi-weekly one-on-one sessions. Participants will also have the chance to meet with over 100 connections, including seasoned entrepreneurs, industry specialists, and investors.
- Workspace: Companies will become part of the HudsonAlpha ecosystem, granting them access to cutting-edge facilities throughout the 152-acre biotech campus. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with HudsonAlpha scientists.
Eligibility Criteria
- Accepting startups based in any part of the globe;
- Focused on pioneering advancements within agriculture;
- Applicants are required to move to Huntsville, AL for the program’s duration to benefit from cohort-based activities and the robust local environment;
- Startups are obligated to attend in person.
