Mediatonic, which was in the 2021 march acquired by Epic Games, revealed the new full Crossplay support and sweet thieves game mode as part of its big season six update announcement.

The arrival of cross-platform lobbies became a reality using Epic Online services, as stated by the developer, which points out that while “Fall Guys” technically already had a type of Crossplay, it was quite limited in what players got to do with it. aside from that, the update is expected to be a variety of general game improvements and fixes for some of the bugs that are currently making players angry.

Fall Guys Full Crossplay Support Arrives

Just as stated, “fall guys” already had cross-platform gameplay…sort of. Players get to play the game with their friends on other platforms in custom shows, but that was it. with this amazing new support, the Crossplay extends to the main show, Duos, Squads, and other “Applicable Playlists,” as stated by the company. “Fall Guys” also can be access on windows PCs and PlayStation consoles, though Microsoft previously announced the title to arrive on its latest Xbox console later in the year.

At the moment, the crossplay allows gamers on PC and PlayStation to Play with each other. It is still unclear if the crossplay support would be available for Nintendo Switch and Microsoft players on the day when those versions of “Fall Guys” launch, though.

Mediatonic stated that players would need to link their epic accounts with “Fall Guys” in other to gain access to the game’s invite functionality right before their friends can join the game. Players that are yet to do this will see a prompt the first time they decide to launch the title right after updating.

Game Modes Expand with Sweet Thieves

To add, the proper cross-platform party offers support, “Fall Guys” also has received a new game mode titled sweet thieves. Yes, this is the game mode that made its first unofficial appearance right under the “Invisibeans Placeholder” image that was launched with season six, though now we know what its real name is, and what it is offering. Mediatonic stated that this new mode will be available “in the very near future.”

The “sweet thieves” model comes with a unique style of gameplay. Half of the players are Guardians while the other half are thieves. Just as the states, the thieves would be given the task of making their way through obstacle courses to steal candy, and the Guardians would be left in charge of capturing thieves in other to send them off to prison.

The matter here remains complicated because the thieves get to help their companion escape from jail, something made extra sneaky by the new ability to walk in addition to running.

A precise release date for this new game mode is yet to be released, but it does promise to offer a new trailer with a “deep-dive” look at the changes in place.
