Does Elden Ring Crossplay Work?
No, well probably not in the way you are expecting it to. Elden Ring offers crossplay for systems in the same family. So, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X players can play the game together. That goes for players on PS4 and PS5 also. You can choose to summon your buddy who happens to own a next-gen console, or go back and help a buddy that hasn’t yet.
With that stated, the game does not feature crossplay between console families. PC players would not be able to help other console players, and Xbox and PlayStation Players won’t be able to play the game with one another either. It’s a big shame too, as Elden Ring would be offering a great opportunity to help one another through hard content.
Could Crossplay be Enabled on Elden Ring
Well, at the moment it is yet to be known. No official statement has been given from Bandai Namco or FromSoftware. Not even a tease of the potential down the line, so right now, it is not looking great.
Going by the precedent, probably not. Thus far, no “Soulsbourne” game has been offered crossplay. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the last multi-platform game from the studio was never offered this feature.
For the time being, there is no reason for you to believe that crossplay will ever come to the game.
