Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox missing save issue will be fixed soon as the firmware issue has now been found. That said, gamers facing the said issue and problem will no longer be experiencing that.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox Missing Save Issue
Players of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox, rejoice. Swen Vincke Game director and CEO of Larian Studios, has just confirmed that the root of the issue reportedly causing save files to occasionally go missing on Xbox Series X|S has reportedly been found, and a fix in question is on the way.
In a Twitter / X post that was published today (January 9), Vincke in question shared the patch notes for Baldur’s Gate 3’s latest hotfix, number 16, which as you should know promises fixes to a couple of crashes and bugs. And while the missing Xbox save file problem has not been ironed out in this hotfix, Vincke however revealed that it’s “incoming.”
“Sizeable hotfix to kick off the New Year. Also got good news from Xbox – they found the firmware issue that could cause save games to go missing, and a fix is incoming,” he wrote. “In the end, all will be well.”
What You Need To Know About the Missing Save File Problem
And just in case you were not familiar with the whole issue, the missing save file problem has affected unlucky players ever since the Series X|S launch of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the previous month. Larian and Microsoft have however continued in their investigation of the issue, and midway through December, the director of publishing at Larian, Michael Douse, announced that reports of the issue were reportedly down 75%.
How to Avoid the Issue
And in order to help avoid the said problem, players were advised to close the game fully prior to this when they are finished playing, and to also keep their Xbox console connected to power. They can also effectively take advantage of a workaround simply by creating a Larian account and then activating cross-saves, which will upload their last five saves to the servers of Larian automatically. These in question can then be accessed even if it is that the bug occurs just by reactivating the cross-save functionality in the options screen.
When Will the Fix Be Rolled Out?
Vincke however did not announce exactly when the fix will be rolled out, but on the other hand, rest assured that it’s on the way, and it should enable Xbox players to dive into their adventure with complete peace of mind.
