The AstraZeneca Young Health Programme (YHP) Impact Fellowship is created to empower young individuals to enhance their skills and expand their network, and knowledge while motivating them to amplify their impact and generate further positive change.
Every year, the YHP chooses young people dedicated to improving fair and just health outcomes for all by:
- Improve equitable access to healthcare
- Strengthen health systems
- Address climate-health issues
- Foster the growth of future leaders and champions in the field of health.
These motivated young advocates will participate in the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada. We anticipate that providing opportunities for networking and growth will catalyze a worldwide health initiative driven by and for young individuals:
- Access to Networks: Involvement in the 2024 One Young World Summit and Ambassador Network, as well as membership in an alumni community of like-minded young change-makers dedicated to promoting youth health.
- Access to Development: Structured educational and developmental resources to help expand your influence, encompassing both self-guided and interactive learning. This encompasses access to the acclaimed One Young World Academy, a distinguished MBA program, and professional development training.
Benefits
Fellows will receive:
- Full participation in the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada, from 18 – 21 September, as an official delegate.
- Round-trip economy air travel from your home country to Montréal, with flight arrangements made by the OYW delegate services team.
- Shared hotel accommodation in Montréal, with check-in on 17 September and check-out on 22 September, arranged by the OYW delegate services team.
- Catering services, including
- Dinner on 18 September
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 19-21 September
- Breakfast on 22 September
- A daily per diem of up to £48 for expenses incurred during travel to Montréal and on the days before and after the Summit (17, 18, and 22 September).
- Reimbursement of the Canada visitor visa application fee, which is approximately 110 Canadian Dollars (if applicable).
- Transportation is provided from the airport to the hotel using public transport.
- Participation in AstraZeneca’s YHP Impact Fellowship, providing access to various learning and development opportunities throughout the year. This includes participation in an acclaimed online mini-MBA program accredited by a university, with 12 months of material access and additional chances for growth.
- Invitation to join the YHP Alumni Group, allowing networking opportunities with other young health leaders from around the globe after attending the One Young World Summit.
Eligibility Criteria
- The age range for applicants is 18-30 years old.
- Applicants must have a good command of English in speaking, reading, and writing.
- The scholarship is open to individuals of all nationalities.
- Applicants must be able to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada from 17-22 September 2024.
- Applicants should be willing to contribute ideas, collaborate on commitments to action, build partnerships, and act as advocates for AZ’s health equity and YHP initiatives when appropriate.
- Applicants must have internet access and a device (computer or phone) to participate in live online Fellowship sessions. These will not be provided.
- Selected candidates are expected to fully engage in the YHP Impact Fellowship and One Young World Summit. Failure to do so may result in the loss of Fellowship benefits.
