In collaboration with the Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP), Inclusive Innovation, and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, this program equips early career researchers with the essential skills and knowledge needed to address the complex challenges facing society today.

Program Objectives

The Africa Science Leadership Programme (TYRLP), is designed to foster thought leadership. Team development, engagement, and collaboration among early career academics at the University of Pretoria (UP). The program aims to empower participants to become catalysts for positive change within their respective fields and communities.

The program also seeks to establish a community of young researchers who are dedicated to advancing the University of Pretoria’s vision. Of becoming a leading research-intensive university by 2025.

Program Structure

  • The program adopts a highly interactive approach to training, emphasizing hands-on learning, peer support, and mentorship.
  • Participants will engage in a two-day intensive on-site program at the prestigious Future Africa Campus, where they will explore various leadership concepts and apply them to real-world scenarios.
  • The program follows a dynamic cycle of theory, application, and reflection, challenging fellows to collaborate on designing initiatives that drive innovation and progress in their areas of expertise.
