The application process for the University of Geneva Excellence Master Fellowships 2024 is out. The Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva, an internationally recognized leading research institution, has established the Excellence Fellowship program with the support of external partners.

University of Geneva Excellence Master Fellowships – Details

The Excellence Fellowship is awarded for a year. It can be extended for the regular length of the selected Master’s program (three or four semesters) if the applicant is academically successful after his or her first semester of study. The grant amounts to CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 per year (no teaching duties).

Are you among the top students in your year 2 and have passed or are you pursuing a stellar bachelor’s degree, regardless of your home university? If yes, this program is for you. To be considered for an Excellence Fellowship, you must be accepted into the Master’s program of your choice and be chosen based solely on your application.

Fellowship Benefits

Successful Candidates will receive grants ranging from CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000 per year with no teaching duties.

The grant is awarded for a duration of one year and extended for the regular duration of the student’s chosen Master’s program which is 3-4 semesters. However, applicants must be academically successful at the end of his/her first semester of studies.

Eligibility Requirements for the University of Geneva Excellence Master Fellowships

  • Students from any university who have performed exceptionally well in their studies, ranking in the top 10% of their bachelor’s program, and who have either completed or plan to complete their bachelor’s degree within the next six months are eligible to apply for a University of Geneva Excellence Fellowship.
  • Merit-based is used in the selection of candidates.
  • The applications’ submitted material will serve as the basis for evaluation.
  • The Masters of the Faculty of Science do not formally need proficiency in French.

Application Documents

  • A two maximum page Curriculum Vitae
  • National ID or Passport
  • Exams transcript during the bachelor education, showing all grades.
  • A motivation letter describing candidates’ specific scientific interests and motivation to pursue a Master of Science program at the University of Geneva.
  • Letters of reference from two professors (if possible)

How to Apply

  • The application process for the University of Geneva Excellence Master Fellowships 2024 can be completed at the University’s webpage at unige.ch
  • Students must fulfil the procedures for enrollment stated on the admission page, for their application to be considered.
  • Applications for the University of Geneva Excellence Master Fellowships 2024 is made online, from early January each year.
  • Upon successful registration, applicants will receive an e-mail containing a personal link. This will allow them to fill out the application form.
