The cost for the new five-year multiple-entry visa in Indonesia is $972 (IDR 15,000,000), and applicants are required to make the payment online. This visa provides holders with flexibility, allowing them to explore the country, visit family and friends, as well as participate in various events and meetings during their stays

Key Features of the New Visa Include

  • Stay duration: Visitors can stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days per visit.
  • Validity: The visa is valid for five years, providing ample opportunities for exploration, family visits, and participation in events and meetings.
  • Visa fee: Priced at $972 (IDR 15,000,000), the fee must be paid online.

It’s important to note that the announcement did not specify the timeframe within which the 60 days must be used. The new visa explicitly caters to tourism and business purposes. And holders are not allowed to work for local employers while in Indonesia. Those seeking employment or extended stays must apply for alternative visa categories.

Authorities have emphasized strict adherence to visa rules, warning of potential fines, deportation, or legal charges for non-compliance.

To boost tourism further, Indonesia is considering lifting visa requirements for 20 countries, including Australia, India, China, South Korea, the UK, the US, and select Middle Eastern and European countries.

In addition to the new visa, Indonesia’s immigration department has introduced an online visa permit extension service. Eliminating the need for physical visits to immigration offices.

The updated system delivers permits directly to the applicant’s email, covering various visa categories such as holidays. Family visits, transit, medical treatment, foreign government officials’ trips, short courses and training, and international exhibitions.
