How to Add or Remove Someone from your Restricted List on Facebook
Your restricted list on Facebook is for people that you have added as friends but may not want to share things or content with. On Facebook, when you add a person to your restricted list, you will still be friends with them on the platform, and they will only be able to see your information that is available to the public such as your posts and profile information and the posts that you have tagged them in.
Steps To Add a Person to Your Restricted List
To add a person to your restricted list, follow the steps below;
Computer
- Go to Facebook and go to the profile of the person that you want to add to your restricted list.
- Next, click on the contact icon at the top of their profile.
- Select the edit friend list tab and select the restricted tab.
To view or edit your restricted list;
- Click on friends in the left menu from your news feed.
- Click on see more if you cannot see it.
- Next, click on custom lists and then select restricted.
- Click on the X icon next to the name of a person that you want to remove from the list to remove them.
Android App
To add a person to your restricted list;
- Open the Facebook app for android and go to the profile of the person that you want to restrict.
- Next, tap on the friend’s tab or button.
- Tap on the edit friend list tab and select the restricted button.
To view or edit your restricted list;
- Login to your Facebook account from a computer and click on the friend’s tab in the left menu from your news feed. Click on see more if you cannot see this.
- Next, click on custom lists and then click on restricted.
- Click on the X icon that is next to the name of the person that you want to remove from your restricted list to remove them.
iOS App
To add a person to your restricted list;
- Open the Facebook app for iOS and go to the profile of the person that you want to add to your restricted list.
- Next, tap on the friend’s icon and select the edit friend’s lists.
- Tap on the restricted tab.
- Lastly, tap on done.
That’s it. To view and edit your restricted list, you will have to log in to your Facebook account on a computer as it cannot be done on a mobile device or the Facebook mobile app.
