DJI Mavic 3 Classic Reportedly Leaked

The DJI Mavic 3 has not been on the market for up to a year now but now leaks already suggest that the flagship will be getting a more affordable sibling soon known as the DJI Mavic 3 Classic.

A combination of a couple of leaked photos and a new FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing suggests and shows that the launch of the Mavic 3 Classic is now upon us. And this will be potentially great news for those who want a flying Micro Four Thirds camera without the current huge price of the Mavic 3 – US$2,199, 1879BP, AU$3,099.

What the Filings by the FCC Means

The filings by the FCC appear usually before an official launch of a product and a test report for the DJI Mavic 3 Classic as per DroneXL makes references to the drone by name. You should also know that an additional filing refers to the changes that have been made by DJI from the existing DJI Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine, thus showing just how closely the Classic will be related to those other existing models.

One question here is how the Mavic 3 will be achieving its cheaper price tag. And according to early leaks from the always reliable @DealsDrone account on Twitter, the major difference will be that the classic version will be lacking the telephoto camera of the Mavic 3, and instead, it will only be offering a single 20MP Four Third CMOS sensor for both photos and videos.

DJI Mavic 3 Has a Really Impressive Camera

The camera fortunately is very impressive with a review on the DJI Mavic 3 finding its performance to be nothing short of excellent. The Four Thirds sensor also is significantly larger than the ones present in smaller drones by DJI such as the DJI Mini 3 Pro and the DJI Air 2S.

Other Things the DJI Mavic 3 Will Be Lacking In Contrast To Its Siblings

As to other things the DJI Mavic 3 will be lacking when compared to its pricier siblings, it is still not clear nor is its expected price tag. @DealsDrone, however, claims that the drone will be launched in late October and soon it will be in a bundle with the new DJI RC controller which of course arrived alongside the Mini 3 pro in the early parts of this year.
