Disney Plus’ Win or Lose animated series release date was reportedly delayed by Disney. The first ever streaming series from Pixar is still very much coming to Disney Plus, but it however will not be coming to the service in time for Christmas, just so you know.
Disney Plus’ Win or Lose Series Release Delayed
We have got some rather bad news for Pixar fans: Win or Lose, which in case you don’t know is the first-ever streaming series of the animation studio, has been reportedly delayed. The show in question originally was intended to make its debut on Disney Plus in December 2023 which is just in time for the holidays, but it has been then moved back to the coming year.
That really is a shame, because the early word on the show has been very much positive. Pixar reportedly showed a complete episode to the Annecy International Animation Festival in the early parts of this year and, according to Variety, it “blew away the assembled crowd: it’s classic Pixar storytelling, full of heart and wonderful characters” and could be “one of the best things Pixar has done, maybe ever.”
What Is The Series Win Or Lose About?
The animated series Win or Lose as you should know focuses on a middle school softball team, with each of the series’ episodes telling its story from the perspective of a different character: one of the players, one of their parents, or even the umpire or coach.
That said, here is the synopsis straight from Pixar: the show “follows the intertwined stories of eight different characters as they each prepare for their big championship softball game. The series reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of each character –the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire – with incredibly funny, very emotional, and uniquely animated perspectives”.
When Will the Animated Series Be Released?
We really don’t know when the series will arrive on one of the best streaming services out there. While the rumors and leaks that the show was going to be delayed turned out to be quite true, the rumor factory however does not appear to know when the new release date in question will be.
One possibility with the series is that it could take the spring slot that was given to Pixar’s next movie, Elio, prior to this which was just recently moved back from a spring 2024 release to a summer 2025 one. That in question leaves a gap in the plans of Pixar until Inside Out 2 comes out in the month of June.
