Boston University is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 BU Presidential Scholarship for high-achieving students!
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded annually by the Board of Admissions to outstanding first-year students with exceptional academic achievement. Presidential Scholars are not only some of Boston University’s most gifted academics, but they also flourish outside of the classroom and take on leadership roles in their communities and schools.
The BU Presidential Scholarship is valued at $25,000, and recipients can extend this grant for a maximum duration of four years of the Undergraduate programme at BU.
BU Presidential Scholarship – Benefits
The Boston University Presidential Scholarship award will provide up to $25,000.00 in funding to successful scholars. Scholarship recipients can also extend this grant for four (4) years maximum of the Undergraduate programme at BU.
Eligibility Requirements for BU Presidential Scholarship
To be considered for the Boston University (BU) Presidential Scholarship 2024-25:
- The student must be ranked among the top 5% of their high school class
- They must have demonstrated outstanding extracurricular achievements in their schools and communities
- Test scores are not required. However, students who submit scores typically have SAT scores above 1500 and ACT scores above 33
- Citizens of the United States of America, permanent residents, and eligible and non-citizens are considered for all merit awards and other scholarships.
- Eligible international students who wish to pursue an eligible undergraduate program at Boston University through a scholarship, are considered for the Trustee and Presidential Scholarships only.

- All Interested and qualified applicants should go to Boston University on commonapp.org to apply
- The Universal does not require additional essays or application forms.
- Students who fulfill the aforementioned eligibility requirements and wish to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship should submit their application and supporting credentials by December 1.
