The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC), in partnership with Dubai Cares, Plan International, and Unbounded Associates, presents an incredible opportunity to suitably qualified individuals to kickstart their journey towards a fulfilling and impactful career.

Program Overview

The BKMC Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program is specifically designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to thrive in the green economy. Participants will gain invaluable insights into the field of green jobs, and also actively contribute to building a more sustainable future for generations to come.

Through a combination of workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on projects, Participants attain personal and professional growth. Here’s what to expect from the program:

  1. 1. Interactive Workshops: Participate in a series of dynamic workshops led by industry experts and seasoned professionals. From project management to presentation skills, these sessions will provide Participants with the essential tools and knowledge needed to excel in the green job market. Topics such as education, gender equality, and climate action will also be explored.
  2. Personalized Mentorship:

Receive individualized mentorship from experienced green job practitioners. Mentors will guide Participants through the program, offering valuable insights, advice, and support every step of the way. Together, they will design and implement an SDG Micro-Project aimed at addressing real-world sustainability issues in your local community.

  1. Hands-on Experience: Participants will Put their skills into action by undertaking a self-paced SDG Micro-Project focused on tackling one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Whether it’s promoting renewable energy, combating climate change, or advocating for environmental justice, the project will make a tangible difference in creating a greener, more equitable world.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program, applicants must meet the requirements below:

  • Required Age: 14 – 20 years old
  • Completion of the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable development and green careers
  • Motivation to effect positive change at the local and global levels
  • Upper-intermediate English language skills
  • Access to a stable internet connection
  • Availability for online meetings scheduled from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. CET in your local time zone

  • June-November 2024: Self-paced SDG Micro-Project implementation with mentor guidance
  • Late November 2024: Online Graduation Ceremony.
