ADB-IEA Innovative Policy Research Award 2024

ADB-IEA Innovative Policy Research Award aims to promote the use of innovative empirical research in economics to support evidence-based policies that address key development challenges in Asia and the Pacific.

Research papers should provide empirical evidence that contributes to the advancement of global and regional public goods in areas relevant to ADB’s operational priorities. These priorities include:

  • Addressing poverty and reducing inequalities.
  • Advancing gender equality.
  • Combating climate change, enhancing climate and disaster resilience, and promoting environmental sustainability.
  • Improving the livability of cities.
  • Promoting rural development and food security.
  • Strengthening governance and institutional capacity.
  • Encouraging regional cooperation and integration.

  • The recipient of the prize-winning paper will be granted $7,000, which will be funded by ADB. If there are multiple authors of the winning paper, the award will be shared equally among them.
