Since 2019, EWC has grown into one of the most comprehensive startup pitch competitions and support programs worldwide, attracting over 370,000 entrepreneurs from more than 200 countries and territories.
EWC winners have the opportunity to receive substantial cash prizes and in-kind awards worth $4 million and $150 million, respectively, and to take their companies to the next level.
EWC provides much more than just a competition. High-value entrepreneurship programs tailored to all three participating stages are offered, along with hundreds of hours of coaching and training.
The connections established throughout this process are invaluable, providing guidance and support to help catapult your business toward achieving its growth goals.

Global Finals Cash Prizes: Early Stage
Cash prizes are awarded to the top five (5) finalists in the Early Stage category.

Global Finals Cash Prizes: Idea Stage
Cash prizes are given to the top two (2) finalists in the Idea Stage category.

Cash prizes are available for finalists who compete in the Idea, Early, and Growth stages across the sectors mentioned below.
Health + Wellness: $50,000
The aim is to improve lives by addressing prevalent medical challenges, ensuring equal access to digital healthcare, and pioneering biotech solutions for a healthier world.
Economies of the Future: $50,000
They encourage innovation in digital technologies, shaping the future of urban living, and creating human-centric, eco-friendly smart cities. Additionally, we explore deep-sea resources and strive to establish a global presence in the field of space exploration.
Energy + Industrial Leadership: $50,000
The focus is on driving alternative energy production, including green hydrogen, solar, and wind power. We also aim to propel the industrial sector towards cutting-edge and high-value industries while promoting sustainable development in mining.
Sustainable Environment + Supply of Essential Needs: $50,000
They take pride in leading global efforts for environmental preservation and meeting basic needs such as water, food, and sustainable energy. Our initiatives include developing eco-friendly water technologies, promoting sustainable food production, increasing green spaces, and implementing cost-effective electricity generation methods.
Eligibility Criteria
- There is no cost associated with participating in the competition.
- Startups from any part of the world are encouraged to apply and become applicants.
- Applicant startups must be either legally registered or in the process of registering in their home country.
- To be eligible, applicant startups must be ten years old or younger by the date of the Global Finals. The age of the entity is determined by the date of company registration rather than the conception of the idea.
- Previous EWC Global Winners who received cash prizes in the 2019-2023 editions are allowed to participate again in 2024. However, their candidacy for future prizes will be subject to certain considerations:
- EWC Applicants can only be eligible for prize categories different from the ones they won in previous competitions.
- Only Grand Prize winners (first place overall) are not allowed to participate as applicants for EWC 2024.
- Past second through fifth-place winners and/or category winners are eligible to apply, but they cannot compete for the same placement.
- There is no preferential treatment or fast-track for past winners to enter the Global Finals; all applicants go through the same judging process.
Other Things to Note While Submitting Your Application:
- If Entrant A wins the Idea Stage prize in 2021 and reapplies, they will only be considered for EWC category prizes and/or non-Idea Stage “ranked prizes”.
- If Entrant B wins a specific category prize in 2023 and reapplies, they will only be considered for any category prize except the one they previously won and/or all ranked prizes.
- If Entrant C wins second place in 2020 and Applicant B reapplies, they will only be considered for EWC category prizes and/or any ranked prize except second place.
- Individuals who are employees of the organizers, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, suppliers, as well as their immediate family members, are not permitted to participate in the competition.

How to Apply For Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) 2024
Startups are required to submit their applications from the country where their headquarters are located. This rule applies even if the team is spread across multiple countries. The registration should be done from the country where the business’s executive management and key managerial and support staff are based.
If your startup is in the idea stage, you must apply from the country where you intend to establish your business.
