This is part of the Cry Me a Cockroach yearly Valentine’s Day fundraiser of the zoo and right now you can get in on the act for as small as $5.
And the zoo also keeps track of the names that are commonly used in the promotion. A zoo statement reads “Last year, the most popular names were Jacob and Sarah. Who will take the cockroach this year?”
Costs of the Package
Five dollars from your pocket will give you a veggie to name which of course is then fed to a vegetarian animal. For a roach, it costs $10, and $25 for a frozen rodent.
Twenty gift-givers can go all out and then get a sharable video of the animal eating whatever that was named for their friend.
