The YoLe Fellowship Programme in Ghana supports the country’s priorities in youth development, focusing on areas such as economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, employment, agriculture, migration, and sexual and reproductive health.

The YoLe Fellowship is a year-long program designed to empower fellows as innovative leaders. It provides opportunities for professional development and mentorship across various sectors, including within the UN system. Fellows receive one-on-one mentorship from accomplished professionals to enhance their leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities.

Eligibility Criteria of UNFPA Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Programme

To be eligible for the Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Education: A graduate of a tertiary institution in Ghana.
  • Commitment: Able to commit to the one-year duration of the Fellowship, on-site at the UNFPA Ghana Country Office in Accra.
  • Skills: Proactive and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Language: Proficient in English (working knowledge is required for communication; all application materials must be in English).
  • Passion: Demonstrate a passion for Leadership, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Social Entrepreneurship, including agribusiness, innovation, and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Community Involvement: Show a desire to make a positive impact in their community, with a particular interest in development issues related to UNFPA’s mandate and Ghana’s Agenda 2030 aspirations, through volunteer work, job experience, youth network involvement, or NGO affiliations.
