Young people are increasingly recognized for their important roles in driving transformative climate action, serving as negotiators, innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, and catalysts for change. However, they often lack the necessary technical, financial, and political support to fully realize their potential.
2024 UNDP Youth4Climate
To address this gap, the Government of Italy and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have partnered with various stakeholders to identify, assist, and amplify youth-led climate initiatives through the global Youth4Climate initiative.
The second edition of the Y4C Call for Solutions focuses on supporting young people and youth-led organizations in areas such as Climate and Environment Literacy, Sustainable Energy, Food and Agriculture, Nature Assets, and Sustainable Consumption and Production.
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive:
- Funding of up to $30,000 to implement or expand their innovative projects.
- Access to technical assistance to enhance their expertise in specific areas.
- Mentorship to refine their proposals.
- Opportunities to share their stories at upcoming Youth4Climate events and through the Youth4Climate Platform and UNDP and partner websites.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Call will fund youth-led solutions in five broad areas:
- Climate and Environmental Literacy
- Sustainable Energy
- Food and Agriculture
- Nature Assets
- Sustainable Consumption and Production
- If approved, proposals can be carried out within a period of up to 24 months.
- Submissions of proposals are accepted in English, French, or Spanish.
How to Apply
- Go to the Youth4Climate Platform’s Call For Solutions 2024 Guideline and template page and sign up to gain entry.
- Examine Guidelines: Access and thoroughly read the Guidelines Document to understand the eligibility criteria, requirements, and deadlines.
- Download and Fill out the provided budget and workplan template and create a 3-minute video pitching your solution.
- Finish and send in your proposal through the application platform by the May 26 deadline.
