TEFEM Africa Fellowship Program

TEFEM, a social enterprise founded by Eneh Mercy, aims to raise women’s standards of life by equipping them with digital skills. Eneh Mercy is a branding strategist and identity designer. a digital artist with more than five years of photographic and graphic design expertise.

With the goal of empowering women throughout the continent, TEFEM is on a mission to “unlock economic opportunities for ladies” by motivating, educating, and providing them with tech and digital skills. They also want to connect these ladies to platforms where their abilities may be made profitable.

Overview of the TEFEM Africa Fellowship 2024

TEFEM is thrilled to present this fellowship programme, which aims to give up to 20,000 African women by 2030 access to basic computer skills. Join TEFEM’s network of trailblazing women in technology, if you meet the eligibility requirements, and take the first step towards a better future.

In September 2024, the Fellowship programme will get underway. After three months of virtual instruction and soft skill development, there will be three months of merit-based experience learning (internship).

Eligibility Requirements for TEFEM Africa Fellowship

Individuals who meet the requirements below are eligible to be TAF fellows:

  • Women with passion for technology and innovation
  • Committed to learning and growth
  • Embodying empathy, humility, and inclusivity
  • Those who are dedicated to empowering themselves and others
  • This year, applications are accepted from girls and women aged 17 to 40 for the fellowship program.

Eligibility is limited to women residing in the countries listed below:

  • Nigeria

  • Kenya
  • Malawi
  • Liberia
  • Burundi
  • Uganda
  • Zambia
  • Zimbabwe

  • The form must be submitted by the deadline of May 13th, 2024.
  • An essay stating the applicant’s experiences, challenges, and triumphs.
  • You will be required to submit a motivational video showcasing your zeal and excitement if you are selected for further consideration beyond the initial application phase.
  • Video Guidelines:

  2. Good lighting and sound quality
  3. Professional dress and demeanor
  4. Video must be clear and concise communication

Selection Process

  1. Application Review
  2. Technical Assessment and video submission

Timeline:

  • Application Deadline: July 31st
  • Stage 1 feedback for shortly applicants: August 2nd-5th
  • Stage 2 feedback for shortlisted applicants: August 2nd – August 16th
  • August 10th onwards: Only selected individuals will be notified by email
  • Orientation and Onboarding: August 29th – 30th
  • Commencement of Class: September 2nd – November 30th
  • Graduation: December 10th
