Rockstar Just Acquired a Major Modding Community Ahead Of GTA 6

Rockstar just acquired a major modding community ahead of GTA 6. Well, does this mean that community involvement is coming to GTA 6? Well, we will just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait to find out.

Rockstar has now revealed that it has purchased Cfx.re, which in case you don’t know is the modding community as well as the team behind FiveM and RedM which are the two biggest role-playing servers for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Just as reported by GamesRadar+ recently, Cfx.re as you should know has been officially welcomed into the fold with Rockstar having “watched with excitement as Rockstar’s creative community have found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly through the creation of dedicated roleplay servers”. You can see Rockstar’s official tweet from what was shared online, which in question is inclusive of a link to the official news post.

How This Acquisition Could Affect GTA 6

This is a really exciting acquisition, particularly just ahead of GTA 6 – which could be arriving with us in the coming year – and then leaves the door open to official mods being incorporated (well, potentially) into the game, or at least having mod community input, just saying.

Cfx.re on the other hand reciprocated the confirmation with a tweet as well as post too. The team is very much keen to highlight that nothing in question will change operationally henceforth – “day-to-day operations won’t have any noticeable changes” – and that there is also no direct link to the next installment of Grand Theft Auto. Cfx.re stated “…for those curious about what else Rockstar is working on, please understand that our partnership with Rockstar Games is focused on our FiveM and RedM platforms. So please, do not ask us about the next GTA!” Okay, then, I think it is clear enough.

How Fans Can Benefit From This New Development

The statements in question, naturally, have not stopped fans from getting enthusiastically carried away with just how this coming together could affect and even get to improve GTA 6. For context’s sake, the servers that Cfx.re reportedly hosts allow players to create their very own worlds in Rockstar’s games and even then play online together within them. This then leads to a multitude of possible adventures that can be had, thus leading to the question, could these fan-made tales be adjacent to GTA 6 officially, then? Perhaps – this is just one to keep an eye on.
