Sony is now terminating its X (formerly known as Twitter) integrations for the PS5 and PS4, thus meaning you soon will not be able to post screenshots as well as clips to X directly from those consoles.

“As of November 13, 2023, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles,” Sony in a support message on its website said. “This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so).” Wario64 reportedly posted a screenshot of a similar message on Threads that seems to have popped up on a PS5 console also.

Why Sony Is Cutting Off Its Integration To X

Sony however did not elaborate on why it is cutting off its integrations to X, and the company also did not reply to a request for comment immediately. (Perhaps the decision in question has something to do with the API pricing of X that it introduced in the early parts of this year.)

However, in the message that was on its website, the firm pointed to support documents in regards to how to share your captures from PS5 or PS4 if it is that you want to pull them off those consoles to post elsewhere. (If it is that you are on PS5, then the PlayStation app is an excellent medium to grab your video and screenshots so that you can share them on several social media platforms.)
