Scholarship benefits

For Master Studies

  • Non-EU Students: €934 monthly stipend for living expenses, health insurance, and possible tuition fee coverage.
  • EU Students: €812 monthly stipend and €300 book money per month.

For PhD Studies

  • Non-EU PhD Students: €1,200 per month plus €100 mobility allowance per month, along with various individual allowances; tuition fees are not possible.
  • EU PhD Students: €1,350 per month basic scholarship plus €100 per month research costs allowance; tuition fees are not possible in Germany but may be possible in other countries.

General eligibility criteria

  • The scholarship is open to all nationalities.
  • Both German and international students can apply.
  • Scholarship recipients should have excellent academic records.
  • Only online applications will be accepted.

Criteria for international master students

  • Apply before starting your master’s program or up to the end of the first semester.
  • Provide proof of your first professional qualification.
  • Must have the required level of German proficiency, which is Level B2 or DSH 2 (with a certificate).

Criteria for International Doctoral Students

  • Include proof of admission to doctoral studies at a state or state-recognized university, usually in Germany, with your application.
  • By the application deadline, you must have completed preliminary work and submitted a valid timetable for completion.
  • PhD subjects related to the Foundation’s focal points will be given priority.
  • Must have the required level of German proficiency, which is Level B2 or DSH 2 (with a certificate).
