Applications are now being accepted for the Journalist of the Year Award 2024. Established in 2020 by One Young World, this award aims to recognize and promote five outstanding journalists worldwide who are reshaping the narrative and making a positive global impact through their work.
In an era dominated by vast amounts of information and disinformation, the role of journalists has never been more crucial. Upholding the fundamental principles of journalism – truthfulness and objectivity – is vital for keeping societies informed and shaping public opinion.
One Young World firmly believes that the upcoming generation of young journalists holds the key to driving significant change. They play a pivotal role in safeguarding freedom of speech and defending rights across the globe.
The award ceremony will take place during the One Young World Summit in Montréal, Canada, scheduled from September 18-21, 2024.
Eligibility
- Open to impactful journalists who are transforming storytelling and making a positive global impact.
- Applicants can be from any part of the world.
Selection Process
- A distinguished international panel of judges with firsthand experience in journalism will select the award winners.
- Their decisions will be based on the journalists’ contributions to their respective countries and communities, as well as the positive effects and influence on young people.
