The expanding industry commitment to environmental stewardship is highlighted at the Green Games Summit. The Green Games Summit seeks to leverage gaming’s global player base of 3.4 billion to address environmental sustainability concerns.

Heads of state and government as well as more than a hundred ministers from around the globe will be in Nairobi for the Summit, which is held at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters just before the UN Environment Assembly’s sixth session.

The conference, which is being organized by the Pan Africa Gaming Group (PAGG) and Playing for the Planet Alliance with support from UNEP, highlights the industry’s increasing commitment to environmental sustainability.

Jay Shapiro, Chairperson of the Pan Africa Gaming Group and host of the Nairobi Game Development Centre commented,” We’re delighted to host the global gaming industry here in Nairobi for this important Summit. With over a billion digital native youth coming online in Africa, the continent represents the future of gaming. Kenya already runs on 90% renewable energy and has one of the cleanest gaming sectors globally, so it’s the perfect place to start thinking about these questions.”
