MINDS Scholarship Program 2023/2024 – The Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) is offering scholarship opportunities to African Students who are looking to pursue Postgraduate studies in Africa beyond the walls of their countries. The program consists of tailored leadership development activities.

MINDS Scholarship Program 2023/2024

The MINDS Scholarship Program is designed to nurture leaders with a continental development mindset; leaders who will facilitate greater cohesion and cooperation between African countries. Therefore, MINDS is currently accepting applications from such students for the 2023/2024 academic calendar.

All interested and Qualified Candidates are encouraged to submit their applications once they receive an official acceptance front MINDS preferred university where they wish to commence their studies.

Requirements for MINDS Scholarship Program 2023 Qualification

The MINDS scholarships are awarded to Candidates who meet the following selection process. Therefore, to be eligible for MINDS scholarship, Candidates must:

  • Be citizens of an African country and residing in any African country;
  • Ideal Candidates must have been formally accepted by one or more MINDS preferred institutions to pursue postgraduate studies
  • Candidates must have obtained at least 70% in each subject/ course in the last two completed years of study;
  • Expected to show proof of demonstrated leadership abilities or potential guided by the questions/ requirements set out in the application form;
  • Candidates are required to submit a complete online application form with the required supporting documentation.

Provide the scanned copy of the documents below. Please note that all documents uploaded must be in PDF format and should not exceed 2MB  in size.

  • Passport (data/bio page)
  • Academic transcript or the last two years of study.
  • Official acceptance letter from the university.
  • A Valid study permit or visa
  • CV/ Resume (less than 4 single-sided pages)
  • Two reference letters
