Little Nightmares 3 will feature online co-op only. What does this mean? Well, it is simple. This means that you will not have a couch co-op buddy to hold hands with in the dark anymore.

Supermassive Games has just confirmed that the game Little Nightmares 3 will not be featuring couch co-op in a bid for players in the game to be able to experience the true horror of the game.
it was revealed in an interview with GamesRadar+ just recently that although the development team did play around with the idea of introducing a couch co-op mode for the next installment in the series, it however ultimately decided not to go ahead with the fan request simply because it would take away from the “atmosphere and immersion” of the game.
What the Game Creators Think About the New Development Regarding the Game
“Co-op was the most requested feature from our fans, so it was really important for us to give them that,” Bandai Namco producer Coralie Feniello stated. “I do think that it will add a layer to the game as well, by letting you experience it with a friend.
“But at the same time, we really want the player to experience it as they want. So that’s why we kept single player, so if you don’t play online co-op you would be able to play with AI with you.”
What Players Should Expect With the Release of the Game
Therefore, for fans who were reportedly looking to play the game with a friend basically beside than while they get to explore the horrors of Little Nightmares, unfortunately, they will have to go it alone.
“We’ve been asked questions about online versus couch co-op,” game director Wayne Garland stated.
“Couch is something that we considered, but again, when you come back to the atmosphere and the immersion that we’re trying to elicit through Little Nightmares, I think it was important for us that we stuck to our online co-op only rather than traditional more party aspects.”

Little Nightmares 3 as you should know was announced during Gamescom 2023 with a haunting initial trailer. And This time around, the game in question is being developed by the team that is behind The Dark Pictures Anthology instead of the original creator of the game, Tarsier.
