Apply to the second Latin America & the Caribbean Climate Fellowship offered by Halcyon, aimed at creating a positive climate impact. The fellowship program unites entrepreneurs from Latin America & the Caribbean, equipping them with the tools to tackle climate-related issues such as Renewable Energy, Green Building, Climate Data, Agriculture, WaterTech, and Blue Economy solutions.
Participants will receive specialized training, valuable resources to propel their ventures forward, as well as the opportunity to partake in a one-week in-person residency in Washington, D.C., and another in Mexico City, Mexico. The Latin America & the Caribbean Climate Fellowship is supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Program Structure
- Cohort of up to 10 businesses established by entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on climate-related initiatives. These ventures undergo training in Halcyon’s approach to achieving product-market fit, preparing for investment, and developing leadership skills.
- Program is delivered through:
- One virtual kickoff meeting
- A one-week Washington, DC residency
- Monthly virtual meetings
- A one-week Mexico City residency
Benefits
- Each program offers unique advantages to participants. Accepted fellows will receive:
- An equity-free stipend of $5,000 USD per venture for travel expenses related to attending the residencies
- A one-week stay at Halcyon’s establishment in Georgetown, Washington, DC.
- A one-week residency in Mexico City, culminating in a pitching event for each venture and opportunities to connect with investors, advisors, and media

Eligibility Criteria
Open to (For-profit) startups are invited to develop scalable solutions to address climate change challenges.
- Location: Startups must be based in or servicing Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Stage: They must have a Minimum Viable Product with the potential for scaling.
- Team
- You may apply with a maximum of one co-founder.
- The applicant must serve as the CEO and/or have primary decision-making authority.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years of age at the commencement of the program.
- Program involvement: Must be capable of taking part in all activities and program sessions
- Impact: Must be working on a product and venture that contributes to one or more of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals
Selection Criteria
- Impact: How significant of an impact will the solution have on society and/or the environment if expanded?
- Scalability: Is it feasible for this venture to expand and reach hundreds of thousands or millions of users within a 5-10-year timeframe?
- Innovation: Does the solution offer a unique approach to addressing the issue in its specific context?
- Talent: Is the team exceptionally qualified to address the challenges they have identified?
