Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for an opportunity, you must meet the following requirements.
- Halcyon Climate Fellowship is looking for (for-profit) startups that are building scalable solutions that are tackling challenges related to Climate change.
- The program is open to applicants from anywhere in the world. It does not restrict participants based on their geographical location.
- Applicants must have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that has the potential to scale. This means they should have already developed a product or service that can be launched in the market and has the potential to grow and expand.
- Applicants are allowed to have up to one co-founder. However, it is required that the applicant themselves be the CEO and/or hold primary decision-making power in the venture. Additionally, fluency in English is necessary for effective communication.
- Applicants must have the ability to fully participate in all activities and programming sessions of the program. This implies being available and committed to engaging in all the planned activities and events.
- Applicants must be developing a product and venture that contributes to at least one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These SDGs are global objectives aimed at addressing various social, economic, and environmental challenges to create a more sustainable future.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old when the program begins.
Evaluation Criteria
Regarding the scoring of applications, Halcyon will evaluate each application on the following four criteria:
- Impact: To what extent, if scaled up, would the solution have a meaningful influence on society or the environment?
- Scalability: Could this venture scale to hundreds of thousands or millions of users over the next 5-10 years?
- Innovation: Is the answer an innovative approach to addressing the problem in their context?
- Talent: Is the team particularly qualified to address the issues identified?
