The postdoctoral fellowship program is offered at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), for a duration of 2 years. IST Postdoctoral Fellowship is designed for eligible candidates holding or about to obtain a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in the natural sciences or computer sciences, mathematics, or any related discipline.
IST Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024-25

The IST scholarship program runs on two major pillars; Providing opportunities to experts in research and creating a career progressive platform for students’ postdoctoral degrees to take shape. Financial benefits of the IST Postdoctoral Fellowship
As a fully funded Program, the IST Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 2024 in Austria covers the following expenses for scholars:
- This scholarship is available to students from diverse cultural backgrounds around the world.
- All expenses relating to participating in the duration of this program (2 years), will be covered.
- Students are given up to 4 tracks to complete their goals.
- If required, the IST scholarship provides students with BRIDGE placements and secondments.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the IST Postdoctoral Fellowship, applicants have to meet the following criteria
- Applicant must have obtained a Ph.D. degree in any field before applying for IST.
- Applicants must Posses a minimum of 4year research experience to apply for this scholarship.
- Applicants who are unable to provide proof of diploma in the form of copy are not eligible to apply.
- Must not hail from a local area like Austria.
- Applicants are not expected to be involved in any other activity in Austria before applying for IST scholarship.
- He/She must have completed research work before the application deadline, beyond that, he/she will not be eligible.

The application steps include:
- The successful candidates will receive an email from IST to proceed with their application
- Applicants will be required to provide all personal details such as their name, address, date of birth, etc.
- Details about the Ph.D. program will be required
- Selection of supervisor by applicants and another secondary supervisor if need be
- Applicants need to provide a title project of 100 characters or submit a 300 words summary.
- Once the details are provided carefully, go ahead and submit the application.
