Instagram Threads reportedly have more than 95 million posts as of the time of this writing. The Instagram-based app was launched just a couple of days ago and it already had activated over 30 million profiles by Thursday morning.

Instagram’s new Threads app now seems like it could be a hit. Mark Zuckerberg has stated that the app has over 30 million sign-ups as of Thursday morning, and people who are reportedly checking it out are posting or should I say threading, a lot, too. And according to internal data recently spotted, there have already been over 95 million posts and 190 million likes already shared on the platform.
All that reportedly took place in less than 24 hours. The app on Wednesday evening launched on both iOS and Android (which is significantly earlier than the original launch time of Thursday), and quite a lot of people are checking it out as it is currently the top free app on the App Store.
There is still quite a lot that is missing from Threads. You cannot delete your Threads account without deleting your Instagram account in the event you want to, for instance, and the app does not have features such as DMs, a reverse-chronological following feed, or even a planned integration with the decentralized ActivityPub protocol yet. But these launch numbers however point to a really promising start for the new Twitter competitor from Meta. And now, we will just have to wait and see if people get to stick around.
What Is Threads in Instagram
Threads is currently one of the most talked about free apps on the internet right now. The app was just recently launched and everybody seems to want to be a part of it. And for those persons who don’t know what Threads by Instagram is, here is a quick and short review on it.
Threads is a new app from Meta, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. The platform as you should know looks very much like Twitter. Well, the app and platform itself was created to rival Twitter, so that isn’t quite of a surprise. The app and platform have a feed that consists largely of text-based posts, although users can also choose to post videos and photos on the platform too where people or other users can have real-time conversations.
How to Create a Profile on Threads
This is easy. But in order to create a profile on threads, you will need to sign in with your Instagram account, and if on the other hand, you don’t have an Instagram account, you will need to create one. You can create one profile on threads for each Instagram account that you have.
To create a threads profile on your mobile device, follow the steps below;
- First, download the Threads app from the app store for iOS devices or the google play store for Android devices.
- After downloading and installing the app open it and tap on the sign-in with Instagram tab at the bottom.
- Then you will see the account that you are signed in to currently on the Instagram app. You will need to log in to Instagram if you aren’t already. And you can always switch to the Instagram account that you want to use threads in the event you have more than one Instagram account.
That’s it. And once you have successfully logged in with your Instagram account, you will need to complete your profile by providing a profile picture, writing a bio, adding links to your profile, following people, and a whole lot more. After you are done with all that, tap on the continue tab at the bottom of the app and then select if you want your profile to be private or public. Lastly, review the terms and policies of the app and then tap on create a profile at the bottom.
