Call for Applications Now Open for the Government Of Ireland International Education Scholarships Programme (GOI-IES) 2024. The GOI-IES programme provides support to High-achieving international students aspiring to pursue masters or doctoral studies in Ireland.

Government Of Ireland International Education Scholarships

The Higher Education Authority oversees the program, which is sponsored by the Irish government and run in collaboration with Irish universities. About Sixty (60) full-time master’s or doctoral scholarships are awarded annually as part of the initiative. Participants in the program can choose to pursue any field of study of their choice.

What’s included in the GOI-IES Programme – Benefits

  • The government of Ireland International Education Scholarship Programme is fully funded for Successful Applicants.
  • Scholarship recipients are given a stipend of up to €10,000. This amount is for one year of full-time master’s or PhD programs.
  • The host Institution of Scholarship recipients is required to waive or cover the full tuition fee to the awardees for the duration of the scholarship.
  • Successfully Selected Candidates (scholars) will be expected to commence their studies in either September or October 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES):

  • Applicants are expected to have a domiciliary of origin outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/ United Kingdom.
  • Candidates must first apply for an admission offer to pursue an eligible master’s or Ph.D. program offered by a participating higher education institution as per that institution’s admission procedures.
  • A conditional or final offer of admission to that higher education institution is mandatory at the time of application. A copy of it will be required for submission.
  • The offer letter should demonstrate the student’s acceptance to pursue a full-time programme as an international fee-paying student.

  • Before applying, prospective Candidates should review the requirements carefully to ascertain whether they are eligible to apply.
  • An application form is provided and should be completed accurately
  • All applications must be submitted via the online portal on https://webportalapp.com/sp/login/heagrantapplication attached with two references.
  • Candidates are advised to submit their applications well before the deadline, to avoid technical issues as a result of the large number of applicants
  • Please note that applications cannot be submitted once the deadline has passed, and changes cannot be effected once it has been submitted.

Assessment process

Applicants are expected to demonstrate:

  • An outstanding record of academic achievement;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Proof of participation in extracurricular activities (humanitarian work, politics, arts, or sports)
  • Reasons for pursuing their study in Ireland
  • Subsequently, shortlisted applications will be assessed by an independent panel of international assessors.

GOI-IES Key Dates

  • Application deadline: The closing date for Government Of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) 2024, is 5 pm (Irish time) on the 13th of March 2024.
  • Notification of outcome: The call for outcome will be in Late May or early June 2024
