Google Pixel Fold Reportedly Suffers Shortages

Google Pixel Fold reportedly suffers shortages as the priciest Pixel Fold model is now out of stock. Do you know what this means? Well, it directly points to one thing this time in question. This means that the device could be the hottest foldable of the year.

Google Pixel Fold Shortages

Foldable phones as you should know still remain niche devices for many phone buyers for the time being, and the Google Pixel Fold however could have been all the more so – after all, it is the first foldable of the company, and Google on the other hand does not sell anywhere near as many phones as the likes of Samsung at the best of times. But early signs however suggest that there could be quite a lot of demand for the Pixel Fold device.

That is simply because as seen by Android Headlines, the top model of the Pixel Fold (which reportedly comes with 512GB of storage) is at the moment sold out in the US. And when you head to Google’s online store you will be directed to join the waitlist if you get to select this very model.

What This Means for Foldable Fans

That is quite promising news for just about anyone who wants to see the Pixel Fold or foldables, in general, do well. Although it is worth noting that this very model isn’t sold out yet in the UK and that the base 256GB model is still very much available to pre-order in both regions.

That is despite the 256GB version very much likely being the more popular of the two models (especially as it is relatively affordable in regards to comparison (if such words dared to be used for phones at around this type of price point) at $1,799 / £1,749 in contrast to a massive $1,919 / £1,869 for the 512GB version).

And as such, it’s very much likely that Google made far fewer units of the 512GB version, so its ‘sold out’ status here doesn’t necessarily suggest that there is super-high demand. Nevertheless, it is quite a promising sign all the same.

Join Google’s Waitlist

If you however do want that very particular model in the US, then you can easily join Google’s waitlist, although there is no current indication of just when the device will be back up for pre-order. But even if you get to order the 256GB version you will not be getting it before June 27, as that is when the phone actually gets to ship. You should however note that the foldable is not available to pre-order from other retailers such as Amazon until June 20.

By even then, there just might not be too much longer to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. And with the Motorola Razr 2023 and the first OnePlus foldable phone also on the way, there would be many options for foldable phone fans this very year.

But whichever one you choose to go for, it is just really nice to seemingly see demand for this very style of the device at all.
