The Emerging Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) Program is a 12-month initiative specifically tailored to assist young minority entrepreneurs from Gen Z and the millennial generation. Through this program, participants aged 19-35 will receive valuable support to help foster the development of their businesses.
This includes mentorship from corporate sponsors, MBEs, and other key players in the industry. The EYE Program employs an engaging curriculum featuring training sessions, hands-on learning, access to corporate mentors, and proven business tactics that can be put into action right away. Ultimately, participants will gain the knowledge, resources, and strategies needed to launch or expand their innovative ventures.
Key Objectives
This program explores established effective techniques for addressing common challenges that Gen Z and millennials encounter as entrepreneurs in today’s business landscape, aiming to:
- Gain insight into five essential strategies for running a prosperous business.
- Create plans to foresee organizational requirements and implement creative solutions.
- Receive guidance and opportunities to connect with influential business leaders and corporate executives.
- Comprehend supply chain procedures and the advantages of cultivating those connections.
- Achieve the industry’s top business certification for minority-owned companies.
Program Expectations
- Do not miss more than 4 live development sessions.
- Apply for NMSDC MBE certification by June 1, 2024.
- Take part in the video pitch competition.
- Be present at the NMSDC National Conference.
- Arrange a monthly meeting with your Mentor.
- Finish all evaluations and questionnaires.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be between the ages of 19 and 35 at the time of the application deadline.
- Applicants must be a U.S. citizen.
- The business must be majority-owned, managed, and controlled by a minority group.
- The business must be a for-profit entity located in the U.S. or its territories.
- Minority group members must be actively involved in the management and daily operations of the business.
- For publicly owned businesses, at least 51% of the stock must be owned by minority group members.
