In 2024, the Elisabeth & Amélie Fund is specifically seeking projects focused on school sanitation with a hygiene education component. The establishment and upkeep of sanitation and water access systems in schools play a crucial role in attracting and retaining students, particularly girls.
Projects submitted under this call will strive to enhance schooling conditions by addressing sanitation and water access. Emphasis will be placed on creating awareness among teachers, students, and parents regarding water, hygiene, and environmental concerns.
Key Project Components
- Latrines: Implementation of basic sanitation, preferably through the installation of ecological systems.
- Hand Hygiene: Providing access to water for handwashing or exploring innovative alternative solutions.
- Ecological Toilet Waste Recovery/Purification.
- Raising Awareness: Educating teachers, students, and parents about water, hygiene, and environmental issues. Also, creating awareness about the sustainable management of shared facilities, such as latrines.
Grant Details
- Funding of up to €50,000 will be awarded.
