Baldur’s Gate 3 Saves

Larian Studios has just rolled back the latest patch for Baldur Gate 3 for reportedly causing crashes o the game, and with that, recent saves to the game have been made unplayable, but only temporarily.

The developer reportedly released hotfix four the previous night and, just like prior small patches of its kind, it was intended to tweak some features and then fix some issues that the game has been experiencing for some time. However, hours later after the release of the patch, Larian Studios released a post on Twitter, stating that it has rolled back the hotfix due to unexpected issues and problems.

“Due to a build error causing new crashes, we’ve rolled back hotfix four for the time being. We’ll re-release it as soon as we’ve fixed the cause,” Larian stated.

Unfortunately, those players who were playing the game while the hotfix was being implemented and then saved their data since updating will not be able to load those very saves, not until the developer (Larian Studios) has re-published hotfix four.

What the Studio Have To Say About This Development

“To clarify, we’ve rolled back to hotfix three, so you can keep playing! You just won’t be able to load saves from today’s hotfix four until it’s pushed live again. Apologies,” the studio reportedly added.

As Larian has explained, players of the game will have to wait until the patch gets rolled out again in order to play their most recent save and there is also no estimated time at the moment when this will be or implemented.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Huge Successful Launch

The game, Baldur’s Gate 3 has had a hugely successful launch, and in the process overtaking The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as the best-reviewed game of the years 2023, with a really impressive 97/100 rating on Metacritic.

Larian Studios CEO and founder Swen Vincke following the success of the launch of the game, have revealed a rough outline of what players can get to expect with upcoming patches and then confirmed that the first major update will feature 1,000 fixes as well as tweaks.

Hotfix Four Patch – When to Expect It

Hotfix four in question was supposed to be the next step until it was reportedly rolled back, but patch one as you should know will follow afterward, then patch two on the other hand as you should know will incorporate some requests from the community. This update in question could perhaps even be inclusive of the highly-requested ability to change their appearance in-game, which is apparently being worked on at the moment.
