Applications are now being accepted for the AWIEF-Nedbank Growth Accelerator for South Africa 2024. Launched in 2017, the AWIEF Growth Accelerator is a flagship enterprise development program designed specifically to support early-stage and high-growth-oriented women-owned and women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

AWIEF-Nedbank Growth Accelerator for South Africa 2024

The program provides comprehensive support, including growth strategy training, corporate advisory, mentoring, networking opportunities, and access to finance.

The 2024 AWIEF-Nedbank South Africa program aims to bolster the readiness of women entrepreneurs to access funding opportunities and scale up their businesses in the agriculture and green economy sectors. This will be achieved through tailored business development services, tools, mentoring, and skills development.

For the 2024 cohort, applications are sought from WSMEs operating in agribusiness, agro-processing, green energy, and climate-smart solutions. Particularly, technology-based and tech-enabled businesses are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility requirements 

To be eligible for selection, businesses must meet the following criteria:

  • South African Exempt Micro Enterprises (EMEs) or Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSES) with at least 51% female black ownership.
  • Operating in agriculture (agribusiness, agro-processing), green economy, and climate-smart solutions.
  • Businesses must be in a post-revenue phase.
  • Demonstrating scalability and high levels of innovation.
  • In operation for a minimum of three years.
  • Owned or led by ambitious and committed women entrepreneurs.
  • Seeking investment or funding to scale.

Application deadline

The deadline for submissions is March 3, 2024, at 11:59 pm Central Africa Time (CAT).
