Eligibility Criteria

Organizations who wish to apply for an ACT grant must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Work in the focus areas of the ACT Foundation, which include Health, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Environment.
  • Have been registered with the appropriate legal entity in their respective African countries for at least two years (24 months).
  • Possess legal registration as a non-profit organization (GTE/LTD). However, if applying as a social enterprise, the Foundation will only finance initiatives that are not intended for profit.
  • Demonstrate a robust governance structure. Details of the board of directors should be reflected in the company’s registration documents. If this is not the case, please provide updated information.
  • Provide evidence of other sources of funding.
  • Maintain a minimum staff size of three individuals, either part-time or full-time, and on paid contracts.
  • Act as the direct entity responsible for project preparation and management, rather than functioning as an intermediary.
  • Ensure that the program/initiative will be implemented within Africa.
