Apple Announces 2022 Winners of App Store Award
On Monday, Apple announced its 2022 app store award winners, and the top iPhone app prize went to the anti-Instagram social app known as BeReal.
Apple’s global app store editorial team was tasked with picking the winners: 16 apps and games that “inspired users to engage more deeply with the world, expand their imaginations, and stay connected to friends and loved ones.”
Other Winners at the Award besides BeReal
The winners in addition to BeReal span a wide range of genres and it includes games such as Apex Legends Mobile and Apple Arcade’s Wylde Flowers.
“This year’s App Store Award winners reimagined our experiences with apps that delivered fresh, thoughtful, and genuine perspectives,” the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, in a statement said. “From self-taught solo creators to international teams spanning the globe, these entrepreneurs are making a meaningful impact and represent the ways in which apps and games influence our communities and lives.”
