Are you between the ages of 14 and 25 and currently residing in Northern Ireland? Do you have an idea for a community project or business that aligns with one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals? If so, keep reading. Unloc Online is partnering with One Young World to offer 10 Micro Grants worth £1000 each to young individuals in Northern Ireland who wish to test or develop their own business or community project that contributes to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The recipients of Seed2030 will come together in Belfast in early 2024 for a 2-day immersive Leadership Development Bootcamp. This bootcamp aims to help participants enhance their leadership skills and make progress in their respective projects, campaigns, or ventures.
Following the bootcamp, each grantee will be paired with a mentor from the One Young World ambassador community. These mentors will provide support to the grantees for a period of 6 months as they launch their projects. Throughout the project, the young individuals will also receive ongoing assistance and guidance from Unloc staff.
In addition to this, a select group of recipients will have the opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal in September 2024. They will also have the chance to apply for Lead2030, further expanding their leadership journey.

- Food, refreshments, and travel expenses will be fully covered for all participants. Additionally, those who do not live in Belfast will have their accommodation expenses covered as well.
Eligibility Requirement
To be eligible for the grants, you must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must fall within the Age range between 14 and 25 years.
- The applicant must have permanent residency in Northern Ireland.
- He/she must possess an idea for a community project, campaign, business, or social enterprise that aligns with one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals
- Must be available to attend the 2-day immersive leadership bootcamp in February in Belfast (exact date to be confirmed). All costs for food, refreshments, travel, and accommodation (for non-Belfast residents) will be covered.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on three main criteria:
- The viability and credibility of your plan for the community project or business idea
- The potential impact or difference your project or venture can make towards advancing one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals
- The realism and achievability of your budget
- The long-term sustainability and legacy of your project or business idea after the funds have been utilized.
