Three Star Wars Movies in the Works

Although we are now living in a golden age for Star Wars series, a new triage of big-screen projects are most definitely on their way. And each of the three projects will tell epic stories from various points in the history of the franchise.

The Story of the Films by Mangold and Filoni

During Star Wars Celebration Europe today, Kathleen Kennedy was joined by Daisy Ridley on stage as she reportedly announced that James Mangold, Dave Filoni, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are all set to direct three upcoming Star Wars movies which are due out in the next couple of years. And although no titles or premiere dates were revealed, Kennedy shared that film of Mangold will go “back to the dawn of the Jedi” while the film of Filoni on the other hand, which focuses on the New Republic, will get to connect directly with streaming series such as Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, and The Book of Boba Fett.

Obaid-Chinoy’s Film Plot and Story

Perhaps most interesting of them all, Obaid-Chinoy’s film will get to see Ridley return as Rey Skywalker building a new Jedi Order from the ground up following up with the events of The Rise of Skywalker. There is no telling as to when, exactly, these new films will be hitting theaters or whether there might be another proper trilogy in the works, but suffice it to say that Star Wars fans will presumably be eating well for the foreseeable future.
